Fred. M. Whitaker, P.C., senior partner, first joined Cummins & White in 1990.  He returned in 2000 to lead the commercial transactions practice group, and specializes in:

Between his two terms of service at Cummins & White, Mr. Whitaker served as Vice President/General Counsel and later as Chief Operating Officer for the Northwest Division of SC Fuels of Orange, California. During that time, he served on the CIOMA Board of Directors and was Chair of the Insurance and Risk Management Committee. He also served as Chairman of the Mobile On-Site Fueling Task force for SIGMA.  Mr. Whitaker has often been a speaker and continuing education provider at industry conventions, and over 1/3 of his client base is in the petroleum distribution industry. His industry experience provides Mr. Whitaker unique insight into the issues and challenges petroleum distributors, dealers and transporters face.

In addition to Mr. Whitaker’s keen industry knowledge, the team of sophisticated attorneys at Cummins & White also are well-versed in matters affecting the petroleum industry, including employment, land use regulation, transportation, and the Petroleum Marketing Practices Act (“PMPA”).
