Government Relations Committee
The CFCA Government Relations Committee (also known as the “GR” Committee) is a fundamental element in the motivation for our trade association. It is where the rubber meets the road on a daunting, ever-changing list of legislative and regulatory issues facing our industry.
California is known as the test tube of creative and expensive mandates and programs. Legislators and regulators take pride in being “California-first” with their initiatives. This means that California businesses are the Guinea pigs for these untested ideas; government rarely takes any responsibility for the consequences of ideas going bad, or costing more than their “sunshine” estimates.
As such, the GR Committee is the unique collection of owners, operators and allied business representatives where we gain better understanding of agency proposals/legislation, and their consequences. We need YOUR real-life experience and expertise to help us fight back. It is not by mistake that this Committee is the only wide-based, member-driven collection holding regularly scheduled meetings.
Being on the committee means you get to help prioritize our ongoing issues list and make sure your issues are covered by our ever-busy government relations professionals. Do not underestimate this significant benefit.
